I hope that table holds…

Was my thought when first Prach, the Mike Siv (with camera), jumped onto the table in the Target gallery last night during Prach’s performance last night. Luckily, we have some amazing carpenters here, allowing the table to become a stage without even a squeak.

I was lucky enough to have seem Prach before. I had brought Spencer And Mike out to the Wisconsin Film Festival a few years ago to present Spencer’s film Refugee and Mike’s first film Who I Became. When Mike suggested we bring Prach out for a brief performance as well, I was interested, but I really didn’t know what to expect. We had a full house, and a pretty diverse group, but certainly not the hip hop community. I got nervous, but Prach held it down, and people loved it. People were blown away and walked away not only with a sense of what Prach has been through, but hopefully with a much more open-minded attitude about different cultures and music.

Needless to say, I was excited to have Prach come to the Walker, and it’s always good to see Mike and Spencer. The show last night was great. Mike’s documentary on Prach is looking good, and Prach got the whole room going. Did you miss it? Well lucky for you, you have one more chance. See you tonight!
