FASHION!

The ongoing OPEN-ENDED (the art of engagement) exhibition continues to “engage” the gallery space as well as the audiences in multifarious ways. I’ve been enjoying the range of events and projects, each one for its own, but I must confess that in my mind, the event on last Thursday (May 25), of all the ones I’ve seen so far, takes the cake. Brilliantly curated and deftly organized by Anna Lee of Ruby 3, in collaboration with the Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council, and featuring a dozen of local fashion designers (including one of the WACTAC members!), Walker Un-Prom brought out daring and often witty designs that should be the dream of truly fashion-forward prom-ers. Rather than fashion vocabulary-poor me describing it, let the photographs attest to the fashion and the appreciative crowd privileged to have been there.

one thing I do want to add is that I totally fell in love with The Battle Royale, the high school band that provided a power dance-pop soundtrack to the show. I’ve never been a groupie in my whole life, and in my ripe age, I just might start being one.
